A Shared Vision Takes Flight
Our journey began in 1991 when Stephen J. Hanzlik and a group of friends founded our company, then known as Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group (LVRG). United by a shared vision, they opened our first Red Robin restaurant in 1993 at Tilghman Square in Allentown, PA. Steve’s passion for serving local communities with quality food and hospitality fueled LVRG’s growth. In 2010, after bravely battling leukemia four times, Steve passed away. Determined to honor his memory, LVRG partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and has raised millions of dollars to help cure blood cancers.
Following Steve’s passing, Jim Ryan, a close friend and founding shareholder, took on the CEO role. Under Jim’s leadership from 2010 to 2018, LVRG evolved into a family that values giving back, becoming a community favorite, and prioritizing the well-being of our dedicated Team Members.
Beyond Burgers
Red Robin-LVRG then transcended beyond serving fresh, grilled burgers. Our restaurants created countless memorable experiences for Guests, Team Members, and the Communities we serve. We became an integral part of local life, fostering partnerships with organizations like the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, engaging in charitable efforts, and embodying a commitment to community support.
Innovation has been at our core since 1993, with continuous internal and external growth. We’ve embraced Third-Party Delivery, Curbside To-Go, Catering Services and even introduced the first-ever Red Robin Food Truck. Our Team Members enjoy numerous perks, participate in our Diversity and Inclusion Council, and have ample opportunities for career advancement.
Building On Our Legacy
Recognized as a Top 200 Franchisee by Franchise Times Magazine, LVRG’s pursuit of excellence didn’t stop there. In 2018, Jim Ryan passed the torch to our current President & CEO, Mike Axiotis. Mike, who joined LVRG in 1998, understands the essence of hospitality and service. He upholds the legacies of Steve and Jim, emphasizing the importance of each Team Member.
Under Mike’s leadership, LVRG underwent a transformative phase as it expanded into new ventures, including a Food Service Management Company, a Facilities and Property Management Company and a brand partnership with Wingstop Restaurants. Recognizing the evolution of our company, our Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team embarked on a rebranding process.
